Liebster Award!

Hello there!

A while (like 7 weeks ago lol) I was nominated for the Liebster Award by the lovely Gem.
I was very happy about the nomination but until now I wasn't able to post about it, sorry!

Here are the rules:

  • First I will answer the questions provided by the person who nominated me
  • Then I nominate three other bloggers and provide 10 questions they have to answer

Here are my three lovely nominees:

Here are my answers to Gem's questions:

1. If you could meet anyone in the world who would it be? Why?
This is a pretty though question. I would love to meet SO many people. One of them is Lady Gaga, because she is such a big inspiration and she always seems so nice and lovely to her fans.
On the other hand I'd love to meet Tom Hiddleston so he'd know I existed and he could fall in love with me (haha)

2. What to do you most like to blog about?
I don't really know to be honest. I like all the things I blog about, otherwise I wouldn't blog about them, would I? But if I had to decide I guess it were movies and  tv series.

3. What is the one song you cannot get out of your head recently?
Uptown Funk - Mark Ronson ft. Bruno Mars

4. If you were to get a tattoo tommorrow, what would you get and why?
Maybe a little teacup because I really love tea. Or the line from YUI's song "Skyline" I always wanted to get as a tattoo ("I want to fly well")

5. What is your favourite beauty item?
I don't know if the question is about my general favourite or the favourite of the items I own. So my favourite item I own is my Chanel powder and my general favourite is gel eyeliner.

6. What is your lifetime ambition?
To be honest I have no idea. Maybe to travel the world haha. But jobwise I really don't know (yet)

7. Do you have any New Year's Resolutions for 2015?
Yes, I actually do. I wrote about them here.

8. Where do you usually find your blog post inspiration?
I look through other blogs to get inspired, but I also come up randomly with ideas, or I just go to pinterest to get inspired.

9. If money was no object for one day, what would you do?
Book some expensive flights and hotels somewhere nice and travel there.

10. Describe your blog in three words.
That's actually not a question... but ok I'll try: geeky, random stuff.   Or better: Things I love.
No seriously, I'm really bad at things like that, that's the best I could come up with haha.

And now here you go, here are my 10 questions:
  1. What was the last movie you've seen?
  2. Did you like it?
  3. How do you stay inspired?
  4. Did you ever deal with a writer's block or your own laziness?
  5. How do you organize/plan your blogging?
  6. Are you currently watching any tv series? Which one(s)?
  7. Do you have a pet?
  8. What is special about you?
  9. If you could travel the world, where would you go first?
  10. What's your favourite Disney Princess? Or Disney Character in general?

If you answer these questions, let me know. I'd love to read it!

Movies of 2014

Movies and cinema is a great passion of mine. Last year around September I posted a list of movies I wanted to see, but I wasn't able to watch all of them.
I thought it'd be interesting if you knew what movies I've actually seen this year and generally how many I've seen.

This is a chronological list (at least I tried to keep it as chronological as I could).

  • The Wolf of Wall Street
  • The Grand Budapest Hotel
  • Traces
  • Captain America: The Winter Soldier
  • The Amazing Spider-Man 2
  • X-Men: Days of Future Past
  • The Fault in Our Stars
  • Hector and the Search for Happiness
  • Guardians of the Galaxy
  • Calvary
  • Gone Girl
  • Interstellar
  • The Homesman
  • The Hobbit: Battle of the Five Armies

In total I went to the cinema for 14 times. I decided to start my own "Watch as many movies as you can"-Challenge and the minimum goal is set to 20 movies for this year. I hope I can do that.

My favourites of last year were The Grand Budapest Hotel, The Winter Soldier, Guardians of the Galaxy, Interstellar and The Hobbit.
Gone Girl and Interstellar surprised me most since I didn't like/enjoy the trailers at all.

One thing that also surprises me is that Rosamund Pike is nominated for an Oscar as Best Actress. The Oscar nominations in general surprised me and made me a little pretty mad. It's not only the Academy I'm mad at but also Hollywood in general. This is getting so ridiculous!
If you look at the movies of the "Best Actress in a Leading Role" category and compare them to the male equivalent category you have to admit that the nominations sound sort of ridiculous.
Not the actresses. Just the movies. I mean, Gone Girl was awesome. But what is Gone Girl compared to "The Theory of Everything" or "The Imitation Game". Those are big movies, "deep" movies. Autobiographic movies of big personalities.
While Gone Girl is just a good Blockbuster.
Hollywood has a BIG problem with women (and blacks... and just people other than straight white males.) And the Academy just reflects Hollywood and the way the big studios think.

I really hope something will change in the next few years.
I want to see more big movies from female directors and I want to see women in GREAT leading roles and GREAT movies.
And I also want to see more of other "minorities".

What was your favourite movie of 2014? And what are your thoughts on the Oscar Nominations?

Project: Room Makeover Part 2

Hi ♥

Last week I was away with fellow volunteers, who do the same work as I do (at schools). It was such a great week, seriously! We laughed so much and had so much fun. We visited a Yoga centre and the whole things was very relaxing.

So, this is it about my week. On to my project!

You can guess that I wasn't able to do anything while I wasn't at home, but yesterday I drove to Ikea and bought a few things and today I started cleaning up my desk! (I'm actually finished with cleaning it, but I'm not happy with the whole appearance yet. I also still need a new lamp)

Here you can see how my desk looked last week and you can compare it to now!
It's so pretty now!!! ♥

Sorry it's so dark. But it was already too late for good lighting, besides there never is good light in the corner of my desk.

I'm pretty happy now with my desk, just the lamp sucks. The light bulb broke again today while I was cleaning the lamp and it's just so old. Didn't find a nice one in Ikea though :(

Unfortunately I still have to organize the rest of my room. I'm struggling with the storage of all the stuff I own. And I'm torn between throwing away 90% of my things and keeping it (without knowing where to put it haha)

This is how my room looks now... all the Ikea stuff is spread everywhere haha. But at least there is a little progress (with the desk lol)

Do you have any tips on storage or decoration?

Project: Room Makeover

Hello there,

Happy New Year! Hope you all had lots of fun on New Year's Eve. I won't talk about mine. (As I can't remember much and I'm still kinda embarrassed haha).

But let's go on to the actual purpose of this post. I hate my room how it is at the moment (and how it has been for the last 7 or 8 years.)
The colours of the walls are horrible, at my desk there is no daylight and everything is dusty and dirty and I have so much room for storage but I don't even NEED it.
Let me show you some pictures...

Cupboard 1

Cupboard 2

Books and Bed

Super cute kitty
Kitttyyyyy haha

One of the biggest problems is my desk. There is much stuff on it, I need to throw away so many things (and pens) and clean everything up, the dust is disgusting (but it just comes back each time I try to clean it up /cries)
I just need a better work atmosphere and a clean room, therefore I also need to clean up those cupboards.
My whole wall unit is pissing me off so much. I got it when I was about 10 and it wasn't me who decided to get this, no it was my mother. And now tell me why the hell would I need a fucking wall unit like that? There is 90% garbage in those cupboards. Ugh. (Of course I had to pay it with my own money. And it was fucking expensive!)
This is the first big step to take. Get rid of all the things I don't need and clean everything up. (Also in the corner behind my desk. I don't want to know how much dust there is /cries)

Next would be the colour of my room. For a kid/teenager the colours might be alright. But after all those years they just annoy me. No, "annoying" is not even close to it, I hate it. I already wanted to change them a few years back but I really can't do all that on my own (and my family isn't very supportive when it comes to ... well, everything.)
I would love to get rid of the carpet in my room, too, but I don't think that is possible... I'll certainly look for some nice wallpapers though, in the next weeks.
And I want to have a new ceiling lamp, for the (day)lighting in my room is the worst. Maybe I'll also get a new desk lamp.

I guess I'll start now tidying up my desk. But I won't be home from Monday till Friday (therefore the suitcase in the pictures, lol sorry), so it probably won't make a big difference if I start now or next week. But I'll keep you updated and I hope my room will look nice and cute in the end, so that I actually LIKE it then.

Do you have any suggestions or tips for me? I'd love to know!
