Fall / Winter Movies 2014

Hello there.

As you may have noticed, I love movies and I love going to the cinema, so this post is dedicated to the upcoming movies this fall and winter. (I'm not sure if any of these were already in cinemas in the US or when they will be in cinemas... and most of them will only be in cinemas in Germany in 2015 unfortunately /cries)

So here is a list of the most important movies for me. (There is no particular order)

The Hobbit: Battle of the Five Armies

Okay, if I said there was no particular order I lied. But after this, there really is no particular order, I promise haha.
I can't wait for this any longer! When I watched the trailer I almost started crying because it was so emotional and after BOTFA there will be no more The Hobbit/LOTR movie and it all will end now and I am so incredibly sad but also so excited oh my god. TOO MANY FEELS!

I'm still not sure what to think of this one... One the one hand it is a Chris Nolan movie, which normally means that it will be awesome, on the other hand I didn't really like the trailer...
Therefore I am looking forward to watching this. I just have no idea what to expect haha.

Mockingjay Part 1

I liked the first part of the book but after I read the whole book I started hating it. And to be honest, I didn't like the trailer either and I don't even know why. Of course, I will watch it and maybe hopefully it will be good... but I am very skeptical. Also because in my opinion the whole book would've easily fit in ONE movie. But it seems like it's "cool" to split every fucking last book of a series in two movies. I am seriously pissed off about this.

Gone Girl

I already said in a post some time ago that I didn't like the trailer... But I have the feeling that everyone is excited about this movie and therefore I want to see it too.
Thing is, I haven't read the book yet and the movie is coming to cinema this Thursday already ... Well, you see the problem, don't you?
Either I will marathon read this or I won't be able to see this in cinema... /cries.

The Judge

Who doesn't love Robert Downey Jr? When I first saw the trailer of this movie I teared up and almost cried, that's when I knew I had to watch it. Also because we get to see RDJ in a more serious role (compared to Tony Stark for example haha).
I recently read that the audience at the Toronto Film Festival was a little disappointed of it...
Well, I will be able to rate this after I've seen it.

There are actually more movies I would love to watch for example The Theory of Everything, The Imitation Game, Foxcatcher, Nightcrawler or Birdwing. These are probably the ones who will definitely get some of the "big" Oscar nominations. But I think all of these will be in theaters in Germany in 2015 /sighs.
I am planning to go to the cinema as often as possible and I will write about what I think.

What do you want to watch this Fall/Winter?

Cheek to Cheek

I love Lady Gaga since The Fame Monster and I was sad to hear that people did not like Artpop or thought it was bad. I love Artpop, although I still think The Fame Monster was Gaga's best album. I could talk about why I think people think she is crazy and why they don't appreciate her music anymore (which are only guesses of course. I don't understand those people, I love Gaga haha) but I don't want to do that.

Her latest album, the collaboration with Tony Bennett, Cheek to Cheek was released this week and let me tell you one thing: It's GREAT!

Jazz is usually not the genre I listen to a lot, not because I don't like it, rather because I don't know much about it. I don't know the big Jazz artists and singers, so I never knew where to start with Jazz.
Now there is Cheek to Cheek, an album full of great and famous songs. I read that the intention was to introduce Jazz to a younger audience and they definitely achieved this. And I really hope that more young people will give this a try, because Jazz is amazing.

Gaga has the perfect husky voice and it fits perfectly with Tony Bennett's, whose voice is also kind of deep and a little husky.
They did such an amazing job with this album and I love it! Especially the songs Anything Goes, Cheek to Cheek, Firefly and It Don't Mean A Thing (If It Ain't Got That Swing).

If you're open to new music and you haven't listened to Jazz that much so far, you should definitely give it a try. And if you already like Jazz, give it a try too haha.

Hello Autumn

Finally it is autumn again! I love autumn! Or fall... or whatever you call it. (We say "Herbst" in Germany)

I can't really choose what my favourite season is, because I love every season. But autumn is sorta special to me.
You get to wear nice clothes and cozy sweaters, the leaves turn yellow and red and you can drink tea all day long (I do this all year round but still haha).
Last year I missed my chance to try Starbucks' Pumpkin Spice Latte but this year I'm definitely going to get some! And I want to try to cook pumpkin soup.
Of course I am also looking forward to buy new make-up items fitting the season (e.g. plum lipstick!) and new clothes.

Also there are a lot of events in autumn which I am excited about!!

The Glamour Shopping Week from Saturday to next Saturday - I'm going to buy new shoes, a scarf and maybe some other things too. I will show you then!

Halloween on 31 Oct. - I love love love Halloween and I am so excited about it every year but then I'm disappointed because in Germany Halloween is boring and no one really celebrates it the way they do in the US /cries.

My Birthday on 22 Nov. - I love having birthday and I love getting presents haha. And since I'm turning I want to celebrate it... but I don't know how yet.

And I will probably visit a friend in France this autumn.

I'm not quite sure how to go on with blogging when I start to work full-time (on 1 Oct.), because besides working full-time I also have cheerleading practice 5 times a week, but I definitely will keep blogging! But I will have plan it better haha.

Edit: OMG I totally forgot about one event!!!
Lady Gaga's artRAVE: The Artpop Ball on 7 Oct. !!! I am so so excited for this, finally I get to see her live!

Favourite TV Shows

I recently started making lists of my favourite books, movies, etc. and also of my favourites on TV.
Especially in the last time there are more and more awesome, new shows but I have only seen few of them unfortunately. I also have a list of my To-Watch shows but first: my favourites!
Since I can't name all of them in one post, these are my Top 5 (in no particular order)

Let's start:
I just love Doctor Who. But I already said in this post that I am disappointed of Moffat as the showrunner.
I loved Christopher Ecclestone and David Tennant as Nine and Ten, I also like Matt Smith's Doctor but since the story of Season 5-7 is too confusing for me, I didn't enjoy it as much.
But I already LOVE Peter Capaldi!!! (And the last episode, "Listen", was great!)

One Day, I was randomly browsing tumblr when this show popped up on my dashboard.
I have seen Red Dragon and half of Silence of the Lambs and since then I always thought Hannibal Lecter was fascinating so it was obvious that I had to watch this, too.
And I immediately loved it!
I mean, I'm very easily scared but I still forced myself to keep watching and that's totally worth it!
Can't wait for Season 3 !!!

If you say you don't like Friends, I can't be friends with you! Just kidding.
But seriously, this is one of the funniest shows ever! I love everything about it.
And now let's celebrate the 20th anniversary of Friends! ♥
(The fact that it started when I wasn't even born yet doesn't change anything! Yay for the 90s!)

I don't know what to say about this ...
Four best friends in New York, fashion, sex, love....
Well, I just have to love it, don't I?

This one is almost as obvious as SATC, I guess, since Martin Freeman is the protagonist...
Fargo is very funny but also SO THRILLING.
I'm currently at episode 5 or 6, I definitely have to watch the rest of it soon!!

Soooo these are five of my favourite TV shows. I know, some of them are over already, but that doesn't matter.
Some other shows I love watching are Law & Order, How I Met Your Mother, Castle and so many others....

Tell me about your favourite TV shows!

Let me just give you one piece of advice for a better life:

Don't ever catch a cold!

Seriously. It's the worst.
I'm ill for about a week now and I can't really tell if it's getting better or worse. I have a sore throat, which is actually getting better I guess, but it still hurts a little, and I have a nasty cough.
Today even my lungs or my heart hurt in some way. Ughhhhh.

So this is the bad news. I hope that I will feel better soon.

But there are also good news!!!

As I may have mentioned before, I graduated earlier this year and since then I didn't really do anything until now.
I wanted to go to university but unfortunately my grades weren't good enough (sometimes I hate Germany....). So I applied for a voluntary social year, where you work for a year in a kindergarten, nursing home or something alike.
And: I got a job!!!!
For the next year I will work at a school! I am really excited and can't wait to start (on monday already!!). Tomorrow I will get to know the principal and I think she will tell me more about the job.

Unfortunately the payment is pretty low because it's voluntary, but for me it's enough for now. I can't wait to buy new make up and clothes and maybe a new phone and just so much stuff!! (I probably won't be able to buy many things but let me dream ok haha)

I am just so excited now!

Travelled: Amsterdam

Earlier this year, in april, I was in Amsterdam (only for a few hours unfortunately), therefore I wanted to show you some photos I took there.
Even if I've just been there for a very short time, Amsterdam is now one of my favourite cities! It's so beautiful and nice!

And here are two photos from the beach close to where our appartments were. The town's called Zandvoort and it's directly at the North Sea. (but obviously it was too cold to swim in april)

Book Haul

I guess all of us have guilty pleasures and keep buying things they already have enough of, right?
Well, my guilty pleasure is books. I'm a pretty slow reader (so far I've read three books this year) but I love buying new books.
If you're interested in what I like to read you can check out my goodreads .

So a few weeks ago I actually finished A Clash of Kings (after like 1,5 years haha) and I immediately bought A Storm of Swords.
So this my first purchase and I wish it wouldn't take me another 1,5 years to read it but since it has about 1100 pages I doubt that I read it faster haha.

And here's what I bought last week:

This is the German version Haruki Murakami's Norwegian Wood. As I already said in this post I read Murakami's latest book earlier this year and I loved it. Therefore I decided to read another book of Murakami.
And I guess I like it so far.
But I think the protagonist, Toru Watanabe, is very similar to Tsukuru Tazaki. And to be honest this is somewhat annoying because they all think they're "common" and "nothing special". Ugh.
But apart from that I like it so far.
Aaaand this is the second book I bought.
I already heard about a long time ago (mainly because Neil Patrick Harris is going to be in the movie haha). Then, last week, I watched the trailer and to be honest, I did not like it.
Hence I decided I have to read the book. Because books are usually better than movies (especially when the movies have Ben Affleck in them lol. JUST KIDDING!!!)
Well, here it is. I bought it online and I am looking forward to read it as soon as possible (right after Norwegian Wood)

Sooo this it already actually. I know it's only three books but I still have tons of unread books in the shelf and they are probably crying now because I'm reading the new ones before them.

What are you currently reading or what did book did you buy last? Would love hearing about it.

PS: Ugh I am really ill at the moment and my throat hurts so badly. I can barely talk. That sucks so so much! I hate having a cold. And I hope it doesn't turn out as a tonsillitis :(((
